Item: Second anniversary of Armistice Day in Penzance, 1920
Description: L-R on the top step: Mr Bicknell, Mace Bearer; Colonel T H Cornish, Town Clerk; Mayor and Mayoress Venning; Alderman George Pool (face in shadow); Mr Barnicoat, Mace Bearer; Dr John Symons; Alderman J H Bennetts. The bugler from the Independent Band stands at the front with a contingent of Boy Scouts on either side of the steps and a similar contingent of Girl Guides at the foot of the steps.. A service for the large crowd was held in the sunshine on this poignant November day. Mayor Venning was well known as a local scout leader.
