Item: Bedford Bolitho Gardens, Wherrytown, Penzance.
Description: This shows the Bolitho Gardens, Penzance which were built on the site of the former Serpentine Works, Wherrytown re-using much of the stone. The gardens were opened on Empire Day 1916 and destroyed by the Ash Wednesday storm of 1962. Looking towards Penlee Point, the vegetation growth suggests a day in summer after its opening in 1916.
