Identification
Item: The view towards Penlee Point from the Bedford Bolitho Gardens at Wherrytown
Description: This photograph could have been taken for a tourism guide or for a postcard to promote Penzance as a seaside tourist destination with parks and gardens and a warm winter climate. The dracaena trees suggest a tropical climate beside the sea. The Robin Bolitho Gardens were opened on a former industrial site in 1914, were rebuilt after the Ash Wednesday storm of 1962, and have adapted to the needs and taste of both the locals and the tourists.
