Item: Camaret Crabbers in Newlyn Harbour
Description: This is a picture of the Camaret crabber, Voltigeur, (Acrobat) in Newlyn Harbour its crew in conversation with its neighbour. This sailing 'dundee' (from dandy meaning ketch or yawl) was replaced by the motor crabber Voltigeux in about 1950. The staysail of the neighbouring boat is furled and hung up in Breton style. There are knees for supporting the mizzen sail, 2 from aft and one each side.There is a long sloping stern, known as a voute.
