IDENFIFICATION
Brief Description: Head and shoulders portrait of the artist's son Alec (b.1893) as a young boy wearing his school uniform. In 1904, aged 11, Stanhope and Elizabeth Forbes’s son Alec attended Chygwidden School, a small preparatory school in Lelant, as a boarder before going to Bedales in Hampshire. Tragically, he was killed during the Battle of the Somme in 1916.
