Identification
Item: The North Church Yard, Gulval Church, Cornwall.
Description: The churchyard is divided into three sections, separated by two paths. This photograph probably dates from between 1870 and 1880, as it was full by 1905. The large grave in the centre is 'The Bolitho's of Trengwainton'; the cross in the right hand corner is T.S. Bolitho, 1887 and there are now four small crosses on the Trengwainton grave. The line of elm trees is long gone, and there is now an avenue of poplar trees along the top path. Most of the inscriptions are now illegible but some survive, see the attached note for more information. This section of the churchyard is only cut once a year and has become a haven for wildlife.
