Item: SS Ethel in for repair at Harvey's Foundry.
Description: Ship repair was also part of the work carried out by Harvey's. This is a photograph of 'SS Ethel' which has suffered damage to her bow in for repair with workmen on board. In September 2018, 'The Ethel' was torpedoed by a German submarine and sank 8 miles SE from Berry Head, Devon. The image is recorded in Jonathan Holmes, St Ives Bay, p Chalford 1995.
