Acc.no: PEZPH : 1994.138
Identification
Description: The third edition of the Tiddlywinks magazine, dated 27. 02.1904, No. 3. It is printed in black on paper, in the form of a folded sheet. Many illustrations are included, some in relation to political satire and some of a comedic nature. For example, a lot of the articles comment on the war between Japan and Russia. On the reverse side are a number of advertisements of businesses based in Penzance, for example, Simpson and Co. and James Lanham's fine Art Gallery in the High Street, St Ives. It is reported that there had been a second edition of the magazine but the blocks, type and manuscript had been stolen by a Russian advocate because it revealed 'diplomatic secrets' about the Russo-Japanese war.
