Item: Muriel Hind and lady passenger in a vintage car outside the Land's End Hotel in 1906.
Description: The event is the Motorcycle Reliability Trial Land's End to John O'Groats on Monday 11th June 1906. Muriel Hind is driving her 9 h.p. Singer Tricar reg. no. AA 1250. She was one of the first lady owners of a motorcycle in Britain and competed successfully in national trials and races. Later she helped develop motorcycles for ladies with Rex Motor Manufacturing Co. and wrote a fortnightly column for 'The Lady Motorcyclist'. Muriel Hind and her passenger are wearing dust veils.
