Identification
Item: Man fly fishing for trout in the Red River, Marazion.
Description: An unidentified fisherman, standing on the right bank of the Red River at Marazion between the Road Bridge and Ropewalk, in a field which at the time was used for grazing horses. The river forms the Parish boundary between Marazion and Ludgvan. The river may at one time have flowed red because it drained the area between Trothwall and Plain-an-Gwarry. Since the 1980s, the area has been used for car parking for the beach.
