Description: A quaint old fishing town and a growingly popular seaside resort, eight miles north-east of Penzance, on the western point of St Ives Bay, which is four miles wide at the entrance. It has a fine broad beach and promenade, from which there are extensive views of the coast stretching away to the north. The population is about 7,000.
