Laura Knight: A Life describes her relationship with her husband Harold, life in the artists’ colonies of Staithes, Laren and Newlyn and the great variety of subjects she covered including the ballet, circus, theatre, seascapes, posters and ceramics and her role as Official War Artist during World War II. Made a Dame in 1929 Laura Knight was the first woman since the 18th century to be elected as a Royal Academician. At the age of 69 she was commissioned as the only British artist to cover the Nuremberg Trails.
