A space for all

Built in 1865, as the home of the Branwell family. Penlee House is home to many paintings by members of the Newlyn School. It is also home to the Penzance Natural History and Antiquarian Society collection.

IDENFIFICATION

Full Name: watercolour painting

Brief Description: A depiction of the 1664 Buller Almshouses, demolished in 1832. This watercolour is probably a copy of a work by John Skinner Prout. Charles Eva originally studied at Penzance School of Art, continuing at the Royal College of Art. He later became Acting Principal of the Hammersmith School of Arts and Crafts.
