A space for all

Built in 1865, as the home of the Branwell family. Penlee House is home to many paintings by members of the Newlyn School. It is also home to the Penzance Natural History and Antiquarian Society collection.

Full Name: charcoal drawing

Brief Description: Charcoal of sailor and part ship's deck with rigging and bell, sea behind. Poem by Samuel Rogers written on mount reads 'When Morn first faintly draws her silver line, or Eve's grey cloud descends to drink the wave, when sea and sky in midnight darkness join, still, still he views the parting look she gave.'
