A space for all

Built in 1865, as the home of the Branwell family. Penlee House is home to many paintings by members of the Newlyn School. It is also home to the Penzance Natural History and Antiquarian Society collection.

Join us for an insightful lecture by Kurt Jackson as he takes us on a journey through 150 years of environmental change in Cornwall through the lens of its flora. Learn about his discoveries and experiences along the way, his thoughts and meetings – what he found, saw and learnt. Along with prose and poems by the artist. This event is a must-attend for nature enthusiasts, environmentalists, and anyone interested in the history of Cornwall’s natural landscape.

Decorate wooden hanging ornaments in traditional Christmas shapes and then hang your beautifully decorated ornaments on your tree, in windows, or around your home to spread holiday cheer!

In our exhibition about flora, you can find paintings of all four seasons – spring, summer, winter, and autumn. Come and make a 3D tree which illustrates all the seasons through colours and shapes. FREE family activities occur every Saturday; drop in anytime between 2.30 p.m. and 3.30 p.m.
